About

Raymond Abel is a bilingual performer and writer based in Los Angeles, proudly born and raised in South Texas—a true Tejano through and through. With deep roots in Tex-Mex and Tejano culture (yes, it’s more than just the food—but have you had the food?), Raymond brings a vibrant, unmistakable voice to every project he touches.

His journey into performance began early—taking to the American stage at just 13, and by 17, breaking into the world of professional sketch and improv. Since then, he’s built a career that straddles the hilarious and the heartfelt, with credits spanning film, theater, and live comedy. He recently appeared in the feature film Frank & Penelope (dir. Sean Patrick Flanery), and notable stage roles include The Diary of Anne Frank Latinx (Mr. Dussel, dir. Stan Zimmerman), Angels in America (Joe Pitt), and Rocky Horror Picture Show (Frank N Furter). He also brought his comedic timing to the legendary Esther’s Follies in Austin, TX.

Whether on screen or stage, Raymond is driven by one mission: to bring more funny, fearless Latino stories to the mainstream. Inspired by comedic icons like John Leguizamo, Carol Burnett, Martin Short, Whoopi Goldberg, and Robin Williams, he’s trying to carve his own path—one line, one performance, one show at a time.
